Southern food in a great southern town; it doesn’t get much better. Just add a few thousand gorgeous southern belles (which Oxford has plenty of) with a few spirits and your set for the day. Oh, and there are movies too.
SFA Films at the Oxford Film Festival
Join SFA on Wednesday February 17 from 6 to 9pm as we kick off the Oxford Film Festival with an evening of food and film.
The Food Film Community party, hosted by Southern Foodways Alliance, Oxford Film Festival, Blue Magnolia Films, and City Grocery Restaurant Group, will feature five SFA shorts along with two shorts from Blue Magnolia Films, each paired with bites from local chefs.
The evening begins with three shorts from SFA’s 2014 filmmaking workshop. Vish, by Danny Klimetz, profiles chef Vishwesh Bhatt of Snackbar. Next, Heather Richie and Brett Mizelle’s Oxford Canteenshort pairs with a dirty grains soup from the Oxford eatery. Then, Molly Nember and Alexandra Lampert’s Ready to Roll introduces Earline Hall, biscuit maven at My Guys (formerly Embers). My Guys rolls accompany this film.
