Every year you commit to finishing your holiday shopping before Thanksgiving, and like previous years, you’re running out of time to find gifts for everyone. Don’t worry, because here are some last-minute gift ideas for every southern man on your list.
Vests
You can see from previous articles that I’m a fan of layering, especially in the winter months. When there’s a chill in the air, I wear vests almost every day. Like other garments, depending on the fabric, color, and style, you can dress them up or down.

Two of my favorites are these Peter Millar designs. The Legacy Sweater Fleece Zip-Up will keep you toasty and warm when you’re running from party to party. This vest is an excellent second or third layer, and I also like the zip pocket on the chest.
For a slightly more formal option, the Worthington Vest crafted from goat suede leather zips up and also includes stylish buttons.
Scarves
I must confess that I’ve only become a fan of scarves over the past six years and they are an excellent accessory for men, especially since many of us don’t have to wear suits or ties to the office every day. Even if you do, there is nothing better to compliment a tie and topcoat than a properly tied scarf.

The Arctic Knit Scarf will help keep the wind chill off of your neck and on the outside, where it belongs.
Gloves
I keep a pair in all of my heavy coats, including my wool overcoat, bomber jacket, and ski jacket. You never know when the temps will quickly drop and besides, most women I know what to hold a warm hand.
Peter Millar’s Nappa Glove is ideal for more formal occasions, and their Arctic Knit Gloves are perfect for your casual jackets, pullovers, and vests.
Socks
My taste in socks has evolved since I don’t have to don the three-dozen or so solid black and blue over-the-calf ones I wore with my suits to the office each day (thank you to whoever coined the phrase, business casual).
Most men are branching out and using socks to add color and flair to their wardrobes and with good reason. Although I prefer going sock-less until the temperature insist I do otherwise, I like the feel of premium cotton and fun colors and patterns. Check out these Polygon Fancy Socks or for the weekend warrior on your list, these Performance Active Socks.
Sweaters and Pullovers
There’s nothing better than relaxing by a toasty fireplace – cocktail in hand and discussing the day’s hunting or skiing exploits. They go well under vests and over a quality t-shirt, polo or button-down shirt. And when the temperature dips below freezing, every layer counts.
I like Peter Millar’s Crown Soft Quarter Zip Sweater and the Mountainside Indigo Cable Crewneck.
