Trevor Finlay grew up in Ottawa, Ontario, and began playing guitar as a child. For the last 30 years, Trevor has made his living as a professional musician, writing such songs as “Send My Mail To Nashville” and Get Into It, the title of his latest album. Until the COVID pandemic temporarily put the brakes on live music, Trevor played upwards of 300 dates a year.
With David Lee Roth’s looks, Eddie Van Halen’s playing style, highlighted with some soulful blues licks, Trevor Finlay is one of the most versatile and humble performers I’ve encountered. I’m fortunate to see many artists and bands perform. In my opinion, Trevor puts on one of the best acoustic performances I’ve seen in years. May guitarists can showcase their playing style with an electric guitar. Trevor only requires an acoustic to play some of the most iconic lead guitar licks we all know and love.

Trevor and I met in early March of 2020 on the patio at Puckett’s Grocery in Leiper’s Fork, TN. I caught up with my friend a few weeks ago during a Florida panhandle tour. Trevor played a stint at the world-famous Flora-Bama beach bar before heading west to Shunk Gulley Oyster Bar in Santa Rosa.
Since the 2020 pandemic put a hiatus on all touring artists’ schedules, it wasn’t difficult for Trevor to transition his shows to Facebook. The reason is that he had been hosting performances on the popular social media platform even before the pandemic. You can watch Trevor Finlay Facebook Live performances most Monday afternoons at 4 pm CDT, so check his page for any updates and tour schedule.
