Situated among the gorgeous pines of North Georgia, Reynolds Lake Oconee has redefined casual luxury. For over 100 years, the property has served as a family retreat and upscale getaway, allowing guests and members of all ages to slow down and catch their breath.
Located almost exactly between Atlanta and Augusta, Georgia, the 12,000-acre resort includes a sporting ground that offers unique activities, six beautiful yet challenging golf courses, allowing weekend golfers to experience the treatment offered only to touring professionals. There are other world-class amenities, including superb culinary delights.

Many upscale resorts in the U.S. offer innovative amenities and activities, yet none with such attention to detail.
For starters, The Ritz-Carlton Reynolds, Lake Oconee, offers stunning waterfront views. The hotel’s luxury appointments will leave you well-rested as you decide which activities will occupy your day.
With Augusta, GA, only 85 miles away, it’s no wonder golf is one of the top attractions at Reynolds Lake Oconee. Sean Cain is the Director of the Kingdom at Reynolds Lake Oconee. He has over 20-years of experience as a club professional. However, Sean helps club members shave a few strokes off their game, but he’s also coached several PGA tour pros.
“I jumped at the opportunity to work at this spectacular property,” said Sean. “The amenities offered here are above and beyond the average country club membership, so to say this place is unique is an understatement.”
Years ago, The Kingdom formed a partnership with golf equipment maker TaylorMade. Today golfers from across the country – ranging from touring pros to beginning golfers – make the trek to Reynolds Lake Oconee to have their clubs fitted and made especially for their game.

With two club construction trailers onsite that spent their previous life on the PGA Tour, golfers can have their TaylorMade clubs fitted and made within 8 to 24 hours. Sean and his team review a guest’s swing, make recommendations for their club fitting, build their new clubs onsite, allowing them the opportunity to play a round or two on one of the property’s six courses.
Golf is certainly a popular draw, yet additional amenities such as The Sandy Creek Sporting Grounds, which offers clay shooting, archery, hiking, boating, and off-road driving in a Land Rover Discovery, are icing on this community’s cake.
The sporting grounds director and designer, Justin Jones, was retained in 2017 to create an experience that guests will remember for decades. One of the highlights of his creation is the sporting clay course. Members and guests, even beginners, are taught how to handle safely and shoot shotguns and air rifles. Experienced guides lead the shooters around 20 signature locations to shoot clays while absorbing the resort’s gorgeous landscape.
“About 80 percent of our guests have never shot before,” says Justin. “The question we hear most often after their first experience is ‘Do you know where the nearest sporting club is near my home city?’ That says volumes about us.”
There’s so much more to experience at Reynolds Lake Oconee, including watersports on the 19,000-acre Lake Oconee, 10 restaurants, a tennis center, and extensive programming for more than 4,000 members. If you’re looking for an all-inclusive luxury vacation spot or a new place to call home, this place has it all and then some.
