A Panama City Beach, FL, area native, Will Thompson has played in local and regional music venues for years. When he was 18, he sold everything to raise enough money for a recording studio. Along with his wife and band, the Will Thompson Band is one of 30A’s most popular acts.

Will is a fifth-generation musician who grew up surrounded by instruments of all kinds and has a knack for hitting the right note. Although his love for music has never wavered, Will did take time off to pursue other occupations. However, music constantly tugged at his heartstrings, and he found himself pursuing his natural craft full-time once again. He consistently pushes himself and his fellow musicians to explore new heights and concepts when writing or performing.

Locals and visitors along the 30A corridor can find Will and his band performing several nights each week. Plus, the band is now a family affair, with his son running the soundboard and his daughter also pitching in. Lindsey, his wife of many years, is also a talented singer, musician, and songwriter.
Giving Back to Local Songwriters
Not only does Will focus on his own songwriting, but he’s also one of the organizers of the Panama City Songwriter’s Festival – a two-day event each fall that showcases local talent. The 2023 event will take place on November 3rd & 4th, and you can follow the event on Instagram @pcsongwritersfestival. Make sure you purchase your tickets early to help ensure the event’s success.
