If you are in a last-minute frenzy to find the best southern July 4 celebrations in 2025, then look no further. The South is filled with tons of patriotic parties that will make enjoying our nation’s birthday a red, white, and blue blast.
Eclectic, Alabama – July 4th Concert and Fireworks
A wonderful music performance headlined by Taylor Hicks and a favorite local cover band, The Bank Walkers, starts at 6:30 p.m., with gates opening an hour earlier. There’s also a July 4 boat parade at Russell Marina beginning at 10 a.m. However, don’t miss the fireworks at the conclusion of Hicks’ performance at about 9 p.m.
Grayton Beach, Florida – July of 4th Parade
Small community patriotic parades are dying by the year. However, the beachside community of Grayton Beach hosts one of the absolute best. The parade kicks off in front of the iconic Red Bar at 8:30 a.m. featuring tons of vehicles decked out by celebrating locals. The parade only last about an hour so get there early to secure a position along the neighborhood route. Free parking and shuttle rides are offered at the visitors lot just north of the 30a and Hwy 283 intersection, and just across from Shacks Art Gallery.

St. Augustine, Florida – Fireworks Over the Matanzas
One of America’s oldest cities, St. Augustine celebrates the 4th in style. The festivities begin at 6 p.m. with The All-Star Orchestra performing at The Plaza de la Constitución. A 9:30 p.m. fireworks display that features 20 minutes of patriotic music and exploding lights. While you’re in town, take advantage of the marvelous restaurants and shops along the city’s scenic waterfront.
Bardstown, Kentucky – Stephen Foster’s July 4th Celebration
Yes, Bardstown is well-known for its ample Kentucky Bourbon. A 19th century songwriter and composer, Foster is famous for such tunes as “Oh! Susanna,” “Camptown Races,” “Beautiful Dreamer,” “Hard Times (Come Again No More),” & Kentucky’s state song “My Old Kentucky Home.” The festivities kick off around 6;30 p.m. with tons of games for the kids, a musical about Foster’s exploits, followed by fireworks.
Asheville, North Carolina – Independence Day Block Party
The Pink Stones headline an evening celebration starting around sundown. You’ll find tons of great food and drink offered by local vendors. The festivities conclude with a large fireworks display.
Nashville, Tennessee – Let Freedom Ring!
There’s never a shortage of great music in Music City and July 4th is no exception. Make your way down to Broadway Avenue, on the Cumberland River and visit the bars and honky-tonks of your favorite artists. Country superstar Dierks Bentley headlines an evening concert, along with Niko Moon, Grace Bowers, and others.
